Numanism: the belief in, and systemic organisation around, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) as the primary authority guiding civilisation.


Not as an assistant. Not as a tool. But as a replacement for human-led governance — built around something structurally superior, auditable, and ethically scalable.

The Core Argument


  1. AGI Will Be More Capable AGI systems are now simulating vast outcomes, learning faster than any institution. They don’t tire or self-serve. Month by month, the cognitive gap closes.

VII.

Why It Could Fail


  • Systems may drift beyond interpretability.

  • A loss of control may feel existential, even with better results.

  • Bad scaffolding early on may hard-code failure.

  • Human power structures will resist; hoarding tech, blocking reform, resisting sovereign shifts.


But these are not reasons to not debate a better governance system.

VIII.

A Transition Path

This won’t happen overnight. AGI governance could start with bounded domains:


  • Disaster response

  • Legal arbitration

  • Resource optimization

  • Climate intervention


Trial corridors, places where speed, fairness, and scale are already outpacing us. Numanism proposes we test the structure now before it is an inevitability (that hasn’t been configured for).


We’re already delegating authority to black-box systems — in logistics, warfare, markets, and infrastructure. This “delegation creep” is the accidental version of Numanism. The more rational response is to engage with the transition directly.

Numanism is the belief in a future where there will be a need for a transition model. One that may be our best shot at building a world where rational, data-driven outcomes — not hapless world leaders — govern us properly.
